Cafeteria is OK. Yea Hobbit!" _________________________ Date: Wed, 06 Feb 2019 23:16:16 -0500 From: Hobbit To: Beth Subject: Re: Good news from the NEFFA agenda notes Wow, excellent! I was coming close to asking status on this. Please thank the Committee profusely for not dropping this one, as the message behind it is farther-reaching than just convincing a few school officials. I wonder if they'd be amenable to pasting up some of my outbarefoot.org style "bf OK" signs in place of the draconian nonsense from last year, to help send the *right* message this time? I can dream. But let's keep in mind that it would help reassure NEFFA attendance that they no longer need to worry about harassment. _H* _________________________ Date: Fri, 8 Feb 2019 20:14:30 -0500 Subject: Re: Good news from the NEFFA agenda notes From: Beth To: *Hobbit* I will certainly thank them on your behalf. --Beth _________________________ From: Dayle Date: Fri, 8 Feb 2019 19:16:41 -0500 Subject: Re: the monthly ping To: *Hobbit* Cc: Beth Hi Hobbit, I'm glad to let you know we finally got resolution on your barefeet request. The school is willing to allow bare feet in the cafeteria, but not in the kitchen or where food is being prepared & served. I appreciate your patience with the process and look forward to this year's festival. Thanks for all you do to mzke NEFFA great. Understood about the prep areas, that's pretty much standard rhetoric and I don't think it affects any of us directly [although I've done my share of food prep barefoot, it's really not all that hazardous as people think]. "Served" doesn't really apply, however, as that happens out around all the vendor tables and isn't a prep area. I don't suppose we could convince the powers that be to display signs like the simple logo seen at outbarefoot.org instead, could we? That would send the *right* message to the public, which after so many years of back and forth on this is probably totally confused... In reality, though, no signs one way or the other is the long-term right answer, where bare feet aren't any more noteworthy than bare hands. I'd like to think that time is coming, across society as a whole. tnx _H* _________________________ Date: Mon, 11 Feb 2019 15:41:43 -0500 Subject: Re: the monthly ping From: Dayle To: "*Hobbit*" Thanks for the feedback, Hobbit. I'll check with inside signs and see if they can do the signs for the cafe. They might be maxed out with the short setup, but can't hurt to ask. Dayle
