## "Mommy's Mess" : comfort food I grew up with 1.5 ish lb lean ground beef 1.5 biggish onions, rough chop 2 or 3 green peppers, chunked ~ 3/4" [not strips] 2 cans stewed tomatoes, Del Monte preferred [has additional spicing] Uncle Ben's instant rice or equivalent, we always just wing it on amount === In a largish pot, brown and drain the meat, breaking it up in the process Add peppers, onions, and tomato goop Cook all that down slowly for a few hours; do NOT drain the liquid Add rice, and stir periodically until the liquid is mostly absorbed. Judge in a wild-ass fashion how much rice is needed based on looking at the liquid content at the time Heartily serves a family of 3, with plenty of leftovers for later
